Yipee-ki-yay! We’re excited to announce that Saddle Up is returning to the Smokies! This five day event in Pigeon Forge celebrates the best of the Old West with music, food, workshops, and so much more. We’ve got the scoop on everything you need to know about all the activities and entertainment at Saddle Up.

When and Where

Saddle Up runs from February 19 – 23, 2014. Most of the activities will take place at the LeConte Center in Pigeon Forge, but certain workshops and events will take place at Clabough’s Campground, Smoky Mountain Guitars, Stages West, and the Pottery House Cafe and Grille at Old Mill Square.

Wednesday February 19

  •  Musicians Ray Doyle and Joyce Woodson will share songwriting secrets and perform their award winning tunes.

Cornbread Sampling

  • 12:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m at the Pottery House Cafe and Grille at Old Mill Square. Free.
  • Guests will enjoy a free taste of cowboy cornbread while listening to live music from Belinda Gail and Ray Doyle.

Western Video/Photography Presentation

  • 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the LeConte Center. Room North #1. Free.
  • Famous photographer Ken Jenkins will bring the Old West to life with his remarkable collection of videos and images.

Saddle Up Sampler

  • 3:00 p.m. – 3:15 p.m. at the LeConte Center. Main Lobby. Free.
  • Guests will get into the Saddle Up spirit with music from Joyce Woodson and cowboy stories from Andy Nelson.

Thursday February 20

  • 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. at the LeConte Center. Room North #1. Free.
  • Musicians Andrew Wilson and T. Scot Wilburn will demonstrate various fiddle and guitar styles, including western swing, traditional country, folk and more.

Dinner and Intimate Evening Concert With Don Edwards

  • 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the LeConte Center. Dinner in room North #2. Concert in room North #1. $54.88.
  • Guests will enjoy a mouthwatering steak dinner from the Red River Ranch Chuck Wagon and a concert from the legendary cowboy singer Don Edwards. There are only 50 seats for this event, so be sure to buy your ticket soon.

Dinner and Intimate Evening Concert With Hot Club of Cowtown

  • 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the LeConte Center. Dinner in room North #2. Concert in room North #3. $54.88.
  • After savoring a steak dinner from the Red River Ranch Chuck Wagon, guests will hear high energy western swing music from Hot Club of Cowtown. As with the Don Edwards concert, there are only 50 tickets for this event.

Friday February 21

Stories and Strings

  • 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m at Smoky Mountain Guitars. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. $21.95.
  • This first rate concert will feature Don Edwards, Belinda Gail, Rich O’Brien, Whit Smith, Doc Stein, Joyce Woodson, and T. Scot Wilburn.

History and Lifestyle of the American Cowboy

    • 2:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. at the LeConte Center. Room North #1. Free.
    • Award winning chuck wagon cook Kent Rollins will entertain guests with authentic cowboy stories collected from real ranchers.

  • Guests will enjoy toe tapping cowboy music and entertainment from Joyce Woodson, Andy Nelson, Ray Doyle, Red Steagall & the Boys in the Bunkhouse, Belinda Gail, and Don Edwards.

Saddle Up Concert 2

  • 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at the LeConte Center. Greenbrier Hall. $21.95.
  • Another fantastic concert with Andy Nelson, Joyce Woodson, Hot Club of Cowtown, T. Scot Wilburn & the Shut up-N-Playboys, Don Edwards, and Rod Steagall & the Boys in the Bunkhouse.

 Saturday February 22

Buckaroo Roundup and Chuck Wagon Cookoff and Lunch

  • 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at Clabough’s Campground. $12.50.
  • The festivities kick off at 9:00 with free activities and live entertainment. Around lunchtime, a panel of experts will judge the chuck wagon dishes and guests who bought tickets will enjoy a tasty meal.

Saddle up Concert 3

  • 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the LeConte Center. Greenbrier Hall. $21.95.
  • The final concert will include performances by Kent Rollins, Don Edwards, Rod Steagall & the Boys in the Bunkhouse, Belinda Gail, and Hot Club of Cowtown.

Cowboy Dance

  • 8:30 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. at the LeConte Center. LeConte Hall. $5.
  • This old fashioned dance party will feature music from T.Scot Wilburn & the Shut Up-N-Playboys along with a few special guests.

Sunday February 23

Chuck Wagon Breakfast

  • 8:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. at the LeConte Center. Entrance. $5.
  • The Red River Chuck Wagon crew will be serving up a hearty breakfast fit for a cowboy.

  • This non-denominational cowboy church service is the perfect way to wrap up your Saddle Up experience.
