Earth Day is a special day to honor the natural beauty of our planet and to enjoy the great outdoors, so the Smoky Mountains are the perfect place to celebrate this occasion! Earth Day always takes place on April 22, and there are many fun activities that you can do to join in the celebration on and around this date. Here are 4 fun ways to celebrate Earth Day near our cabins in the Smoky Mountains:

1. Spur Clean Up Day

One of the best ways that you can celebrate Earth Day is by helping to clean up the environment, so join Spur Clean Up Day on Tuesday, April 24 from 9 a.m. to noon! Everyone is invited to join the Keep Sevier Beautiful organization to pick up litter along the Spur, a stretch of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park that runs between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. To participate in the event, simply bring a pair of gloves and meet at Gatlinburg’s Spur Welcome Center at 9 a.m. Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream will be on site with free ice cream for all participants!
