1. Smoky Mountain Tunes and Tales in Downtown Gatlinburg

Tunes and Tales is one of our favorite Smoky Mountain traditions! From June 6 through August 9, downtown Gatlinburg will host free musical performances every single night of the week. The shows start at 6:00 p.m. and end around 11:00 p.m. Tunes and Tales is a great opportunity to hear some very talented local bands, including:

  • The Dulcimer Guys
  • EmiSunshine and The Rain
  • Flickertail Holler
  • Jon Hogan and Maria Moss
  • The Lackey Family
  • Mountain Laurel

Chris Janson is a rising star in the world of country music. Taking Nashville by storm when he moved their on his own at age 18, Chris has toured with Lynyrd Skynyrd and Hank Williams Jr., and shared the stage with Merle Haggard and Florida Georgia Line.

Janson will give a free concert at the Ole Smoky Moonshine Holler on June 21 at 7:00 p.m. You’ll find the Holler at 901 Parkway #107, Gatlinburg,TN 3778. Be sure to ask for some free samples of moonshine while you’re there!

3. Lonestar at the Pigeon Forge Patriot Festival

With ten #1 songs and over ten million records sold, Lonestar has topped the country charts since forming in 1992. This July 4th, you’ll be able to see this great band for free as part of the Pigeon Forge Patriot Festival.

The Independence Day festivities will be held at Patriot Park, located on Old Mill Avenue in Pigeon Forge, TN 37863. Local bands will take the stage at 1:30 p.m. and the festival will end with an excellent fireworks display between 9:45 and 10:00 p.m.

4. Free concerts at Dollywood

Millions of people come to Dollywood for its exhilarating rides, but did you know that the theme park is also a great place to hear free music? With the price of admission, guests at Dollywood will get to hear some incredible concerts this summer.

Band performing music at DollywoodDollywood is currently hosting the Barbeque and Bluegrass festival. From now until June 8, some of the biggest names in bluegrass music will take the stage at the theme park, including Hot Club of Cowtown, Balsam Range, and The Gibson Brothers.

The fun continues with the Great American Summer festival. From June 14 – August 3, Dollywood will host an amazing collection of musical shows. Highlights include concerts from the Kingdom Heirs gospel group, the Smoky Mountain String Band, and the Country Crossroads musical troupe. Guests will also have the chance to see original musicals like the 50s review show “Dreamland Drive-In” and “My People”, an uplifting show featuring Dolly Parton’s family members.
