We are excited to announce that a new mountain coaster has recently opened in downtown Gatlinburg at Rowdy Bear Mountain! The Rowdy Bear Coaster is a thrilling roller coaster experience where riders wind their way downhill through the woods of Rowdy Bear Mountain. It joins several other similar rides in the area to make the Smokies the mountain coaster capital of the world! Here is everything you need to know about experiencing the newest mountain coaster in Gatlinburg:
About the Coaster
The Rowdy Bear Coaster is a mountain coaster experience at the all new Rowdy Bear Mountain attraction complex in Gatlinburg. Guests control the speed of their own sled, which is attached to a steel track that twists and turns down the mountain. The only restrictions are that riders must be at least 10 years of age and 56” tall to ride alone, while children ages 3-9 can ride with an adult as long as they are at least 38” tall. For double riders, the combined weight cannot exceed 375 lbs per sled in dry conditions and 330 lbs in wet conditions. This is a fantastic experience that the entire family can enjoy and will be talking about for months after their vacation to Gatlinburg!
Location of the Ride
The Rowdy Bear Coaster is located at Rowdy Bear Mountain in downtown Gatlinburg and is within easy walking distance of Ripley’s Aquarium and other attractions. For those driving to Rowdy Bear Mountain, the street address is 386 Parkway in Gatlinburg and there is plenty of free parking. The attraction is just minutes from the cabins at Top Cabin Rentals!
Hours of Operation
The Rowdy Bear Coaster is open Monday through Saturday from 9 AM to 11 PM, and on Sunday from 9am to 11pm. Come on out for a daytime ride down the mountain and then return at night for a completely different experience along the lighted track!
The cost for single riders is $16 per ride and the cost for double riders is $27 per ride, while a parent/child combo is $24 per ride. Rowdy Bear Mountain also offers discounted group rates for groups of at least 15 people. Guests may re-ride the same day at just $8.00 per person.
