There is no better way to celebrate the winter season than with a trip to Ober Gatlinburg. From ice skating to snowboarding, there are a ton of fun winter activities to enjoy there. We’ve create a handy guide for everything you need to know before going Ober Gatlinburg snow tubing.
How it Works
Snow tubing at Ober Gatlinburg begins around mid-November and ends around the first week of April. You and your family will ride the “Magic Carpet” (outdoor escalator) to the top of the hill. Each person will get their own lane to slide down. After each run, you can ride the escalator back to the top of the hill and go again. Sessions are 90 minutes each, so you can slide down the hill as many times as you want during that time period.
Snow tubing tickets tend to sell out fast especially during the holidays and weekends. We recommend that you buy your tickets online. However, you can also purchase tickets downtown at the Tramway Mall or at the Snow Tubing Ticket Office at Ober Gatlinburg. You can check out their website for the snow tubing schedule and ticket pricing.
Snow tubers have to be at least 6 years old and 42 inches tall in order to ride by themselves. Children ages 3-5 have to ride with an adult. Children under 3 are not allowed to ride. A waiver has to be signed by each person that goes snow tubing. For children under 18, the waiver must be signed by a parent or guardian. All of these safety guidelines help ensure everyone is safe so they can have a good time.
