If you are planning a vacation in the Great Smoky Mountains and want to spend a day at Dollywood, we have some great tips for your visit to Tennessee’s famous theme park! With a huge selection of fantastic rides, shows and attractions, the park is extremely popular and draws 2.5 million guests annually. Learn about how to beat the crowds and maximize your day at the park with our 3 awesome insider tips for a perfect day at Dollywood Theme Park:
1. Arrive Early as Possible
One of the most important strategies to any theme park visit is to arrive as early as possible to the front gate! This allows you to be one of the first guests through the gate at opening to quickly head to the most popular rides. It can be helpful to study Dollywood’s Park Map before your visit so that you can determine the quickest route through the park. When you see lines stacking up quickly for roller coasters such as Lightning Rod, Wild Eagle and Mystery Mine, you’ll be glad that you were one of the first guests in the park!
2. Purchase the TimeSaver Pass
If you are visiting Dollywood on a weekend, holiday or other busy period, consider purchasing the TimeSaver Line Management Pass. This pass provides you with expedited access to select rides and shows throughout the park! There are two options for this pass, one in which you can use expedited entrances up to ten times throughout the day and the other which provides unlimited access to the expedited entrances. Both versions of the pass include unlimited show reservations at DP’s Celebrity Theater, Pines Theater and the Showstreet Palace Theater. The TimeSaver pass is the perfect way to maximize your time in the park without waiting in lines!
3. Plan Your Day Around the Show Schedule
One of the highlights of Dollywood Theme Park is the fantastic live entertainment performed in theatres throughout the park. The show schedule is published daily on the Dollywood calendar so that you can plan your day in advance with the showtimes in mind. The schedule is also available on the park maps at the front entrance to Dollywood. If you have not purchased the TimeSaver Pass, it is generally a good idea to show up for the major shows at least 30 minutes prior to showtime to get a great seat! By planning the shows that you want to see in advance, you can save a tremendous amount of time from backtracking across the park.
