An exciting new attraction is arriving to the Smokies this spring called the Pigeon Forge Axe House! This is your chance to bring out your inner lumberjack and learn one of the fastest growing sports in the United States: axe throwing! This is the ultimate adventure for those who want to step a bit out of their comfort zone and experience the adrenaline rush of throwing an axe! Here are the top 4 things you need to know about the new axe house attraction in Pigeon Forge:
1. What to Expect
The Pigeon Forge Axe House offers the unique opportunity to participate in axe throwing, a new sport that has rapidly been growing across the nation! Axe throwing is similar to darts as it is a target sport focused on earning points determined by where your axe sticks, and the bullseye is the most important sport on the target. Whether you want to throw axes or simply watch the action, everyone in your party must sign a waiver to enter the throwing area. Each participant will take part in a safety briefing demonstrated by one of the experienced axe coaches, and all players must follow all the instructions provided by the axe coach.
2. Basic Requirements
The axe house attraction in Pigeon Forge is an exciting activity that can be enjoyed by family members of all ages! There is no age requirement for participants, but those under 18 must have a waiver signed by a legal guardian and those under 16 must be accompanied by a legal guardian. If you don’t feel confident about your child’s ability to throw, you can ask an axe coach about allowing them to throw in a test lane. The only other requirement, other than attending the safety briefing, is every participant must wear closed toed shoes in order to throw.
3. Axe House Rules
As you would expect, there are a number of rules you should follow at the Pigeon Forge Axe House for your safety and the safety of those around you! There are clear safety lines for each throwing line, and axes should not be thrown anywhere except at the targets. In addition, participants are only permitted to throw when the axe coach gives the signal. Axe throwing is designed to be a fun activity and friendly competition is encouraged, so always remember to be respectful of other players! Players are not allowed to use their real name when throwing, so start thinking about your lumberjack name before arriving at the axe house!
4. Pricing Information
The rates for the Pigeon Forge Axe House are $20 per person for 1 hour and $35 per person for 2 hours, while additional hours can be purchased for $15 per person based on availability. Once you make a reservation, you should arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled time to avoid any delays. Once your time slot starts, the Axe Coach will take you back to the lane to start the fun!
