Can you never get enough of Christmas? If so, you don’t have to wait another year to unleash the holiday spirit. Area residents and visitors to Gatlinburg cabins will be pleased to know that the annual ClausFest is returning again this spring for more jolly festivities than ever.
This year, the event is expected to welcome more than 350 Santa, Mrs. Claus and elf variations. Running March 14-19, it is a place to meet vendors who specialize in Christmas items and mingle with other Christmas lovers.
It is the only event in Gatlinburg that holds Santa workshops for guests to share the joy of the season and trade Santa tips. Workshop themes include working with the deaf, Mrs. Claus 101 and working with the media.
On March 14, there will be a meet and greet where guests can pick up registration folders that detail the entire convention’s agenda. There will even be a special luncheon for those who register through their ClausFest website or by mail.
For a fine meal and dancing, the Snow Ball is planned for guests to and guests are asked to attend in full Christmas wear at the Tennessee Ballroom. Following a social hour, guests will dine on a catered meal and be treated to entertainment by magician Duane Laflin. Also on the entertainment schedule are the Swing Sisters who will be creating swing era musical performance just for ClausFest. Tickets are $55.00 per person or $110.00 as a couple.
To kick off the entire event, a Parade of Claus’ travels through downtown Gatlinburg. Also included in the festivities are a fashion show and variety show. Those attending the event will need to register online or by mail for the entire convention as well as the fashion show, parade, meals and ball.
